Contract of Services

How we work — at a glance.

A short summary of our standard terms of engagement. Ask us for the full contract before you instruct us.

i.

Regulation

All work is governed by the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Lawyers: Conduct and Client Care) Rules 2008.

ii.

AML / CFT

We verify identity for every client via TICC. Fees for this are in the costs list above.

iii.

Communication

You’ll have a named lawyer on your matter and an alternate contact if they’re unavailable. We respond within one business day where we can.

iv.

Invoicing & payment

Invoices are payable within 7 days. 2% monthly penalty interest applies to overdue amounts.

v.

Confidentiality

Everything you tell us stays between us, with the usual exceptions for our regulator, our insurer and the law.

vi.

Complaints

If something’s not right, tell a Director first — Kristine King or Campbell McGill. The NZ Law Society complaints service is available if we can’t resolve it between us.
